Topography Study

These human scale works are composited from multiple photographs, taken in the same location, creating a representation of the landscape. The size and vertical orientation envelop the viewer, enabling an intimate experience of these places and an awareness of self in the environment. The variable cutouts of the layered prints create an interplay between absence and presence and the inversion of landforms becomes a metaphor for the corrosion of nature.

LEAVE YOUR MARK - TAKE A PIECE

This installation aims to foster an interactive dialogue where viewers directly influence the artwork. The works are derived from my large scale topography series that showcases human-sized abstract landscapes. Multiple sheets of photographic paper, each cut in landform pattern, are layered together symbolizing erosion and the gradual obscuration of landscapes over time. Viewers are invited to engage intimately with this work by selecting and carefully removing a cutout from any piece. This act of participation is not just symbolic but transformative, as the artwork will evolve and 'erode' throughout the exhibit, mirroring humanity's tangible impact on our planet.
